Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Langa collects, why we collect it, and how it is handled — in line with our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Who we are
Langa is operated by Wilancha Tupou, an Australian sole trader. You can reach us at langa@polsia.app for any privacy-related enquiry. We act as the app entity for the personal information described below, in accordance with APP 1 (open and transparent management of personal information).
What we collect
We collect only what we need to deliver Langa to you. In practice, that means:
- Email address — captured by the in-page signup form when you subscribe. Each subscriber record includes a
sourcevalue (hero,exit-intent, orsticky-footer) and aleadMagnetflag, as defined in our subscriber schema. When you choose a lead-magnet download, we also store the guide slug you selected so we can deliver the right resource. - Aggregate analytics events — anonymous pageview and interaction counts collected by the Polsia analytics script mounted in the site layout. These events are non-identifying and used only for traffic measurement. No third-party trackers (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Sentry, etc.) are loaded on this site at the time of writing.
- Standard platform data — basic technical metadata (IP address, user agent) required to serve the site, processed by our hosting provider under our agreement.
How we use it
Email addresses submitted through the signup form are stored in our database and, on a fire-and-forget basis, forwarded to Beehiiv at api.beehiiv.com/v3/subscribers for newsletter delivery. We use this information to send you product updates, new reviews, and — only if you opted in via the leadMagnet flag — the lead magnet resource you requested. Analytics events are aggregated solely to understand which content is useful to Australian operators.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone except the sub-processors needed to run the service (our database host and Beehiiv).
Cookies
Langa currently relies on only the standard cookies set by the Next.js framework and any cookies required by installed platform modules (for example, authentication if enabled in the future). We do not load any third-party tracking cookies and we do not currently display a cookie consent banner for that reason. If this changes — for example, if we add analytics that require consent — we will update this section and surface a banner before such cookies are set.
Affiliate commissions
Some of the links on Langa are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you purchase through them. This never affects our editorial recommendations, and the full details are set out in the ACCC-aligned disclosure below. We are transparent about every commercial relationship on the site.
Your rights under Australian law
The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles give you a number of rights over the personal information we hold about you. In particular, you can:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you (APP 12).
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, or misleading (APP 13).
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we have interfered with your privacy.
To exercise any of these rights, email langa@polsia.app and we will respond within 30 days (or sooner where practical).
International visitors (GDPR note)
If you visit Langa from the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with comparable data-protection laws, you may have additional rights — including the right of access, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing. We honour those rights on request where they apply to you. The data controller for the purposes of the GDPR is the operator named above; you can reach us at langa@polsia.app.
Data retention and security
We keep subscriber records until you ask us to delete them, or until the record is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected. We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information — including encrypted transport, access controls on the database, and least-privilege access to our newsletter tooling. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever suffer a notifiable data breach, we will follow our obligations under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The most recent version will always be posted at /privacywith an updated “last updated” date at the bottom of the page. By continuing to use Langa after a change is posted, you accept the updated policy.
Affiliate Disclosure
Langa may receive a commission if you purchase a product through links on this page. This helps us keep the site free and does not affect the price you pay. We only recommend tools we believe provide genuine value to Australian small businesses. All recommendations comply with the Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010) and the ACCC guidelines on endorsements and testimonials. Opinions expressed are our own.
We aim to respond to privacy enquiries within five business days.
